Joan Flemmings, widely celebrated as The Queen of Jamaican Mento, is a legendary Gospel Recording Artist, Songwriter, and Minister of Religion with a career spanning over 40 years. Born in St. Catherine, Jamaica, and preaching since the age of eight, she broke new ground as the first female gospel DJ in the country and pioneered Mento Gospel—a trailblazing fusion of Jamaican folk rhythms and gospel music. Her ministry and music have taken her around the world, where she has shared stages with gospel icons such as Shirley Caesar, Papa San, Grace Thrillers, Katalys Crew, DJ Nicholas, and Tasha Cobbs-Leonard.
